Major Timeshare Clubs will provide at least 198,982 room nights for football fans during the 2010 FIFA World Cup in various time share resorts across South Africa. Clubs and VOASA, the industry’s Trade organisation, have signed up with MATCH, FIFA’s service agent for accommodation, as part of the MATCH Ville concept.

This agreement is also a major breakthrough for the accommodation industry and will have many positive spin-offs for the time sharing clubs members and the respective local communities who will directly benefit from the major sporting competition taking place in South Africa from 11 June to 11 July 2010 .

MATCH Ville is a strategic concept which offers ‘follow your team’ accommodation and transportation services through the Round of 16 matches of the 2010 FIFA World Cup. MATCH Ville is available primarily to FIFA’s network of Participating Tour Operators (PTOs).

Other Timeshare owners are invited to join the team by making their timeshare weeks available to the rental pool between 4 June and 16 July 2010 . Interested parties can contact African Space, the company acting as a consultancy to MATCH regarding the timeshare accommodation on info@africanspace.co.za for further information. The management of the time sharing resorts will also contact their members to secure further time sharing inventory in the upcoming weeks.

In total, FIFA requires at least 55,000 rooms equivalent to 1,5 million nights during the 2010 FIFA World Cup to cater alone for the teams, the officials, media, sponsors and the special programmes such as Tour Operator and Hospitality packages. Currently, 40,000 rooms are contracted with a majority to be in the host country itself.
